1) Her brother Joseph could never have associated with the ‘Cramps’ long enough to be influenced by them. Now that he was back in her life she was much happier, but she needed more. The problem was – she needed something he could never provide.

She was beginning to worry.

2) Like a raft adrift on a lake of free-form contemplation, her bed was her place to ponder, question and think of ways to push anything out of her thoughts that she wanted to.

3) A blinding flash went off, and Truchsia blinked in confusion. “Congratulations!” the clerk said. She grabbed her check and bolted for the door. It was too much of a spectacle for her.
